Kim and David understand that this will be a big trek across the globe so they are doing their absolute best to have as much information gathered for you to make sure you have the best trip possible. The couple made this list of "things to know" in the interim as they work out all the details and the itinerary.

- This will be a LONG travel day. The fastest flights we've seen is still about 24hours of travel.

- Ho Chi Minh is the post war name for the city of Saigon. If you hear us or any of the family mention Saigon, they are one in the same. Locals still use Saigon (hence the airport code SGN).

- Airport codes for Ho Chi Minh is SGN. Airport code for Da Nang (the airport for Part 3) is DAD. You can book a round trip from SGN or you can depart out of DAD. The flight time from SGN to DAD is about 90min.

- Vietnam is ~11-14 hours ahead of the USA, depending on your time zone.

- You will need a travel visa. We will have links provided to help you procure one with our travel agent or you can do it on your own through many online resources, that we will also share links to.

- The whole adventure will be in 3 parts

Part 1. Welcome party and historical food tour in Ho Chi Minh City. Most of the action will start Feb. 10th so we suggest guests arrive by Feb. 9th to get some rest and start acclimating to the time change. You are of course welcome to come sooner.

Part 2. We will depart Ho Chi Minh after breakfast on the morning of the 11th on a chartered bus and head 4 hours west towards Kim's hometown, Hong Ngu. Once we arrive, please take time to relax or explore before dinner is served. The wedding will be the very next morning on the 12th. Traditional Vietnamese weddings are typically earlier in the day starting with a prayer and tea ceremony. Once the ceremony is over, guests will be served a lunch/brunch typically consisting of 5-8 course served family style, followed by lots of drinking, and an excess amount of karaoke.

Part 3. We are currently planning on leaving Hong Ngu on the morning of the 13th and head to the Ho Chi Minh airport. We will then board a short flight to Da Nang. From there, we will take a 45min car ride to the town of Hoi An, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our plan is to stay there for about 4 nights so that we are able to genuinely relax. While in Hoi An, we're planning food tours, cooking classes, dinners, and various other activities. Don't worry, there will be lots of down time for pool and spa days as well. Lunar New Year is Feb. 17th and we hope to be able to celebrate with you all.

- We are working on hotel blocks and/or a list of hotel suggestions.

- We are working on transportation so that we are all able to travel together. Those not wishing to do so, we will provide info on booking private transfer.

- Guests can choose to participate in any and all parts of this adventure. If you don't want to travel 4 hours inland, just do part 1 and/or part 3 with us. If you only want to do part 2 and experience the wedding, no problem. If you want to skip part 1 and 2 and meet us in Hoi An, by all means, do you. We feel so honored that you're making the trek and we want your time in Vietnam to be YOUR time.
